Paris to Bombay

Hello, my name is Amy Katrina, but you all know me as csi12asa. This is my first article on SDC. Last night I was deciding what I should make my article about and I decided to combine a few of my passions: fashion, jewelry and of course India!

I will be making outfits based on the Coco Chanel pre-fall season 2012 'Paris to Bombay' and compare them to pictures of the real life versions. Which can't be too hard considering that Stardoll made a collection in Film Theory based on this collection.

'Paris to Bombay' was the idea of the amazing designer for the Coco Chanel line Karl Lagerfeld, his other inspired collections include 'Paris to Byzance', 'Paris to Shanghai' and 'Paris to Moscow'. He was inspired by the theatrics and glitter of Indian clothes and even though he has never actually been to India, he decided to make a line inspired by Indian clothes.

This collection as the name implies has European and Indian fashion influence fused together to create an amazing collection.

I can see why Stardoll decided to make a collection of their own based on this beautiful collection.

Here are the Stardoll versions and beside them are the real life version:

Outfit #1                         Real Life Version

I used 'Kavemi Dress' from Film Theory, 'Shimmery Pink Pants' from Velvet Orchid, Basics 'Byzantium Booties', 'Olivia Charm Belt' from It Girls, and 'Pearl Necklace' from Glam-r-us.

Outfit #2                         Real Life Version

I used 'Penner Blouse' from Film Theory, 'Penner Skirt' from Film Theory, 'Data Pants' from Fallen Angel, 'Coco pumps' from Decades and 'Aishwarya Choker' from Epiphany.

Outfit #3                       Real Life Version

I used 'Taj Mahal dress' from Film Theory, 'Violet Leggings' from Basics, 'Drip Necklace' from Bonjour Bizou, 'Beige Sandals' from Film Theory and 'Splendid Silver Stone Head Ornament' from Splendid .

Outfit #4                        Real Life Version

I used: 'Gold India blouse' from Film Theory, 'Gold Ganges skirt' from Film Theory, 'Data Pants' from Fallen Angel and 'Gold Dancing shoes' from Decades
Outfit #5                         Real Life Version

I used: 'Surat Gown' from Film Theory, 'Beige Sandals' from Film Theory, 'Olivia Charm Belt' from It Girls and 'Chandni Jhoomer' from Epiphany.

Outfit #6                         Real Life Version

I used: 'Mumbai Gown' from Film Theory and freebie shoes from a Tampax Pearl campaign from 2007 and 'Splendid Silver Stone Head Ornament' from Splendid.

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed reading this as I did making it. Have a nice day!

Love you all! -Amy Katrina csi12asa
