Hello everyone!
Today we're going way off theme and talking about something that has nothing to do with Stardoll because, why not mix it up a bit every now and then, right? Most of you know that I'm a writer, well an aspiring writer. And I'm not talking about post making and blogging or whatever, I'm talking about actual novel writing writer.
Anyway.
Writing IS hard, and if you say it isn't then you're obviously doing it wrong. This post might not be for everyone and some people might not even read it but that's okay. If you really are passionate about writing and if a writer is something you aspire to become then I advise you to take these helpful tips to heart.
Description is what makes an ordinary story a great story. It is one of the three key elements when it comes to writing a good story. It creates a vivid picture for the reader. A story without description is flat, unemotional and boring. Your reader needs to know what characters look like, what places look and smell like, what’s really happening, how they’re feeling, what they’re thinking, they want to feel that emotion, to smile, to gasp… all of that can be achieved through description.
Never wait for inspiration. Go out and find it. Read, research, observe, borrow ideas, ask, look back, imagine... just write. Ideas and inspiration won't just fly into your room like Peter Pan, hold your hand and take you to Neverland. You have to get up and find it. Find that idea, grab it and drag it back with you. Figuratively, of course.
You don't know how many times I've wanted to hit myself for leaving my note-book at home. It's always like that, isn't it? Whenever you're not expecting it or you're not prepared for it, it hits you like a wrecking ball and a minute after, it's gone. Just like that, no goodbye, no nothing. Wait, what?
Good luck and remember,
it's not going to be easy but it will be worth it.
p.s. don't forget to send in your submissions for a chance
to be in tomorrow's post!
